EPISODE 38 Kurulus Osman
This is Episode 11 (38) of Season 2 Kurulus Osman and EPISODE 38 of Kurulus Osman. Bala has caught Targun meeting with a spy in the woods. To hide the secret message she eats the paper it was written on. Osman and his Alps have been ambushed by Flatius and he attempts to kill Osman. In a life and death battle Taylak Arsland intervenes and saves Osman’s life. Taylak will not allow him to take the life of a Turk.
Taylak tells Osman that he is working with Aya Nickola so that he can get close to Geyhatu and kill him. He declares to Osman that he also dreams of a Turkish State and the biggest obstacle he sees in him achieving his dream is Osman. Never-the-less their goals are the same.
Taylak tells Osman that Geyhatu is gaining strength and if they do not unite against Aya Nickola the Kais will be defeated. He believes that they should strike now before the Mongols leave Anatolia and Aya Nickola is given more soldiers by the emperor of Constantinople.
As much as Osman hates the thought of uniting with Taylak he sees his wisdom in what he says. Geyhatu must die if their tribes are to survive. Osman and Taylak unite for the battle. At the Kayi nomad Ertugrul begins to recover from his deadly illness. He tells Abdurrahman Ghazi not to tell anyone that he is recovering as he needs time to understand fully what has been going on since his illness. The time has come to choose a successor and he wants to be able to make the right choice.
Gunduz Bey is aware that Savci wants to have himself voted in as the Bey of all Bey’s which is normally bestowed by Ertugrul. Savci and Dundar Bey are working together for their own ambitions. They know that Osman loves his father and will not agree to a Toy Council meeting when his father is still alive. The family is becoming split in two.
Osman and Taylak Arsland make a plan to kill Geyhatu. Flatius listens to their plans and leaves to relay the news to Aya Nickola. Savci visits Bamsi Bey who has been left to protect and manage Kuluchaiser Castle in Osman’s absence. He wants Bamsi Bey to stand against Osman if he is selected as Bey at the Toy Council. Bamsi Bey refuses to support him as this goes against tradition and Osman is not around.
Ertugrul strength returns. He mind is clear once again. He tells Abdurrahman Ghazi that he has a plan and he wants him to listen to listen carefully.
Meanwhile in Inegol Castle, Flatius returns to Aya Nickola after not being successful in killing Osman. He tells Aya Nickola that Taylak Arsland has united with Osman and together they are going to kill Geyhatu. Aya Nickola makes plans to meet with Geyhatu to warn him that Osman and Taylak are coming for him and then to meet with Targun in the woods.
Targun leaves the nomad for her rendezvous. Bala does not trust Targun and sends Gonca and Aygul to follow her. Targun is told by Aya Nickola to poison all the Beys when they sit down at the Toy Council or he will kill her father. Aya Nickola speaks with Geyhatu and warns him that Osman and Taylak are coming. Aya Nickola sends Flatius to the Kai nomad with a declaration of war written in Geyhatu’s hand.
The Toy Council gather to vote on a new Bey of all Beys. Ertugrul knows exactly what is going on and prepares to intervene. Selcan Hatun tells the Council that no Toy meeting can be held without all the sons of Ertugrul present and Osman was not there.
While the meeting continues nobody knows that Ertugrul is listening to their conversations from his room next door. Meanwhile, Osman and Taylak have arrived at the Mongol camp. Neither Osman nor Taylak know that the Mongols have been warned that they are coming.
Flatius arrives at the Kai nomad as ordered by Aya Nickola. He has a letter from Geyhatu which is presented to the Beys. The letter tells him that war has been declared by Geyhatu and the christians. Ertugrul in the next room listens carefully to what is being said and the reactions of Savci and Dundar Bey. It is only Bamsi Bey who tells Flatius that if war is what they are declaring that Osman will gladly go to war against them. Flatius gives him 3 days before the war begins.
Meanwhile, Osman and Taylak find they have entered a trap at the Mongol camp. Geyhatu has gone to Trebiz to sit on the throne of his old enemy Argun Han now that Argun has died. Geyhatu doesn’t really want to be bothered with Osman when he has the opportunity to be the great Khan of the Mongols. He leaves his Nokers to take care of Osman and departs.
There is a fierce battle at the camp. The Mongol’s trap is a good one and Osman and Taylak have to fight for their lives. The Alps are waiting on all sides and see that they have walked into a trap and they unleash their arrows on the Mongol camp. It is a savage fight but in the end the Turks are victorious and not one Mongol is left alive.
Osman believes that although Geyhatu has left and taken his army with him that he will be back as the Sultan. As there is no threat of war now with the Mongols there is only Aya Nickola left for them to take care of and Inegol Castle to be captured.
Taylak is over joyed with their victory. He knows if Geyhatu does return that he can rely on Osman to fight by his side. Taylak tells Osman that he can now have some peace. Cerkutay after fighting alongside Osman decides to join the Turkish Alps with Osman’s blessing.
Meanwhile at the Kai nomad, Savci gives a speech. He swears that he has done everything for peace but now that war has been declared he is all for it. Savci decides that they will not hold a Toy Council meeting and he will take the title of Bey for himself in the morning. He has the support of Dundar Bey. He hopes that Osman does not turn up.
Bamsi Bey and Gunduz on the other hand have already confirmed that they will not support Savci and they will uphold the traditions of the tribe. They plan to stand in his way the next morning and stop him. Targun still has the poison which was given to her by Aya Nickola to poison the Beys. She considers when to use it.
Osman leaves the Mongol camp feeling powerful in his victory. He knows within himself that he will be the next Bey of all Beys. He rides home to contest the leadership from his older brother. There is no threat of war with Geyhatu at the present and they only have Aya Nickola to deal with.
Osman has no idea what faces him when he gets home. The tribe is split down the middle with Savci challenging for leadership and Dundar Bey supporting him. It is only Bamsi Bey and Gunduz who cling to the traditions of the tribe. Ertugrul Bey is not dead yet and Osman is not present to contest Savci’s claim. In the morning there could be Turk killing Turk and brother killing brother.
Ertugrul who has recovered his strength sits on the end of his bed with his sword displayed in front of him. His sword will be given to the next Bey of all Beys which he will choose the next day. At this stage we do not know which son he has chosen to lead the Kais but they will certainly be surprised when Ertugrul takes his place once more.
In the morning Savci makes his move. He orders his Alps to help him take Ertugrul’s sword from his tent, knowing that he will have Bamsi Bey and Gunduz standing in his way.
At just the right time the tribal drums herald the arrival of Osman. Osman takes in the scene in front of him. The time has come for him to challenge his brother. Selcan Hatun and Bamsi Bey look proudly upon the youngest son of Ertugrul. He is their choice as leader of the Kais.
Osman faces his brother in a powerful stand off. They are not far away from physical blows when they are interrupted by the figure of Abdurrahman Ghazi who calls for the sons of Ertugrul to come and hear their father’s last words.
A rush is made through the tent doors. They are shocked at what they see. They do not see a frail old man dying but rather the strong form of Ertugrul sitting on his throne. Ertugrul addresses his sons and tells them that He is the Bey and He is the State.
